Newly elected American Pope Robert Prevost Leo XIV is facing backlash from conservative critics, who label him a “Marxist” and accuse him of supporting open borders, woke policies, and opposing MAGA values.

Supporters describe him as compassionate and socially engaged, following in the footsteps of Pope Francis.

But social media personalities like Laura Loomer has strongly criticized newly elected Pope Robert Prevost, calling him “anti-Trump, anti-MAGA, pro-open borders, and a total Marxist like Pope Francis.”

Loomer further claims that Catholics have “nothing good to look forward to,” labeling Prevost as just “another Marxist puppet in the Vatican.” Her comments have sparked widespread debate among followers and critics alike.

Considering what the new pope has written on X previously, the criticism seems to be accurate.
